Topic based Subscription and Publishing simplifies the development process freeing the developer from dealing with the details of IP and memory routing behavior. (Most other systems require the developer to manage IPs and Memory settings in their code.)

TLA(Transport Layer Abstraction) is a unique feature of ScaleRT and provides key features needed for large scale deployments.

ScaleRT Hot-Standby

ScaleRT offers an integrated hot-standby feature, enabling applications to achieve seamless failover across different node sets. This integration means that no additional libraries are needed to utilize ScaleRT's hot-standby capability.

The solution employs a major/minority election strategy without the need for log replication, effectively reducing the likelihood of split-brain issues in most situations. Additionally, ScaleRT's hot-standby functionality is designed to maximize system performance, ensuring that failover support does not come at the expense of efficiency.

Raft-Scale Technology

RAFT-Scale™ represents an adaptation of the RAFT protocol - known for being Reliable, Replicated, Redundant, and Fault Tolerant - built on the foundation of ScaleRT. The RAFT-Scale Library offers developers a unified API, particularly useful in scenarios necessitating a Sequencer. Although RAFT-Scale™ has a performance penalty, it significantly enhances data consistency and reliability.

This is achieved through a strong consensus mechanism that substantially lowers the risk of split-brain situations. Thanks to RAFT's distributed architecture, the system can manage multiple node failures without losing its state, as long as a quorum remains achievable.
